Why aprons? Because we all need a little pretty when we're cooking dinner, cleaning up, baking a batch of muffins or best of all, sharing a bottle of wine in the kitchen while making great food. That, and a place to wipe our hands!

I offer three different styles of aprons, which I've named Joanie, Lucy and Ethel out of nostalgia. They are all handmade by me, using really great designer cottons.
I am always changing these fabrics as new ones become available.

The Joanie, Lucy and Ethel aprons are described below. At the bottom of the page you will find photos of the aprons that are currently available. You can enlarge photos by clicking on them.

In addition to aprons, Side Stitch by Ginny has grown to include yoga mat bags drawstring bags, hairbands and skirts. You never know what you'll find, so come back often!

The Joanie

The Joanie apron puts the fun in function! This is a full apron with a pocket, and long ties that can be tied at back or wrapped around to the front, depending on your preference. Go ahead.... make a mess. Joanie has you covered!

The Lucy

The Lucy apron has sass! Its five panels give it a flattering, flared shape set off by a wide waistband and ties in coordinating fabrics. If you wish, a pocket can be added. Lucy is great for entertaining or everyday. I think it calls out for a cocktail. Or a cake.

The Ethel

The Ethel apron is more straightforward but a lot of fun, with a co-ordinating pocket and long ties that wrap around the waist and tie in the front. Wear it low rise or waist high, whatever your preference. Every girl needs a friend like Ethel.

Looking for a child's apron? The Ethel can easily be scaled down to child size with room to grow!

The Claire Skirt

The new Claire skirts  for late summer/fall 2012 are ready for order! Above, from top to bottom   they are Saffron, Fiona Blue and Retro Floral.

The Claire skirt is arranged in tiers giving it a great shape that flatters everyone. Gathered trim with raw edges makes it extra special. It's easy to wear and easy to care for. Pull it on with a tshirt and sandals in warmer weather. Wear it with a pretty blouse or sweater and boots when the weather is cooler in the fall. Bring out your inner cowgirl with a pair of cowboy boots!

To order your custom made skirt, contact me via phone or email. Or come to one of the farmers markets or events if you live in the area! In addition to your fabric selection, I'll need your skirt size and, if possible, the measurement for the widest part of your hips. Standard skirt length is 19" but can be made an inch or more longer or shorter if desired. Allow approximately 1 week.

Large Drawstring Bags

These drawstring bags are fully lined and beautifully made from high quality cotton fabrics. As laundry bags they are great for home: Hang one in the bathroom or on closet door and you have a beautiful and space-efficient way to stash dirty laundry. Great for travel and a welcome feature in any guest room. Hang one in your child's room and all they have to do is pull the ties and toss to the laundry room when full.Laundry has never been so pretty and fun! They make great gifts, especially for college students. But they aren't just for laundry! These bags are perfect for stashing beach, pool and other things too. So many uses...... Price $25 each.

Yoga/Pilates Mat Bags

I love pilates almost as much as I love cooking so it was inevitable that after aprons I would add mat bags to Side Stitch by Ginny!

I have designed these bags to be both functional and good-looking: They are large enough for mats to slide easily in and out. There are no zippers or ties to fiddle with. Each bag has a pocket to stash some essentials (phone, keys, cash, gym card) and a strap for across the body or over the shoulder. All are made in beautiful designer cottons, just like the aprons.

No more juggling your stuff and your mat will now look great on your way to/from class and wherever it is stored!
